Building Good Practice Habits

In this episode, I talk about one of the crucial elements of music instruction, practicing. Unlike other after school activities, music requires a considerable amount of effort from students and it is only fair that teachers explain exactly what is expected of them and let them and their parents in on their plans. The episode concludes with one of Shostakovich's favorite pieces, which is coincidentally one of my mine as well.
